AZ POST To Begin Narcan (Naloxone) Training This Month

In order to best serve the community, Arizona POST has developed a curriculum in which first responders will receive training and then be able to administer Naloxone, also known as Narcan, to those who have suffered an opioid overdose.

The first training will be a Train the Trainer and will be held on Thursday February 16th at Arizona POST. Those in attendance and upon successful completion of the class, will then become the trainers that will travel throughout the State to instruct others. The training will consist of both lecture and a hands on application of the proper use of nasal inhalers, which will be the method in which law enforcement personnel will administer the drug.
